6 of Pentacles - Giving People What They Are Able To Receive

Our reading today is quite complex. The 6 of Pentacles is one of the most multilayered “gate” cards in the Tarot. Combined with today’s Cancer Moon, we are going to want to be laser focused in extracting our distilled message and creating sigils for amplifying the most vital essence of the card and today’s astrology.

6 of Pentacles Lord of Material Success and the 4 of Cups Lord of Blended Pleasure

In 78 Degrees of Wisdom Rachel Pollack relates this card to a powerful quote from Nietzsche’s Thus Spake Zarathustra: “If you want to go to them, give no more than an aim, and let them beg for that. Give more and no one will listen.”

To me this quote captures the essence of the relationship between the 6 of Pentacles and the 4 of Cups (the home-base Tarot card for the Moon in Cancer). The 4 of Cups famously ignores and rejects, or maybe is truly just blind to, the Cup (blessing, abundance) offered by the Universe. The 6 of Pentacles shows us a deeper shadow in this story by representing a scenario in which the “scales are balanced” (not shown in the Rennenkamp depiction) when one person dominates over the other two.

Second Decan Taurus Sextile the Moon In Cancer

While the Moon in Taurus represents blessings of comfort and security in both material and spiritual treasure - She directs us to look at the cyclical nature of material success throughout life’s passages and transitions. The Moon in Cancer tells us to take this moment in our collective Moon cycle to protect our sensitive, psychic, empath selves, to rebuild our strength, recharge our batteries, heal any cracks in our crab shell and re-attune ourselves to the rhythms and cycles of the natural world. The sextile aspect of these two forces indicates an opportunity today for cooperative energies between these two endeavors.

Astro-Glyph Sigil

Our sigil today invokes the power of this 60 degree aspect so we can understand it as much much more than a “weak trine.” This sigil includes the symbols for: sextile aspect, the Moon, Taurus and Cancer. Focusing on harmony and cooperation between Earth and Water elements will help us receive the opportunity to want and utilize material and spiritual treasure. It’s all too easy to allow this chance to slip through our fingers when we aren’t feeling the activation (and even pressure) of a full 120 degree Trine telling to develop our talents within these elemental relationship. The sextile represents a challenge to act, and offers an opportunity to learn and expand one's horizons without the same degree of intensity as the trine.

Invocation Sigil

Our art-magick spell for today is for “SPIRITUAL TREASURE.” You can utilize the sigil by meditating or praying with it in conjunction with a signifier word, some examples include: balance, protect, recharge etc..
